Conditions We Treat
Disc Bulge (Bulging Disc)
A ‘Disc Bulge’ occurs when the vertebrae above and below an intervertebral disc are not moving correctly. This mechanical imbalance places ongoing pressure on the disc, which leads to gradual degeneration.
In the early stages, patients often experience localized back pain as the disc loses hydration and begins to thin. If the condition progresses, the disc adds pressure to the nearby spinal nerves, resulting in radiating pain, numbness or tingling that extends into the arms or legs depending on the location of the bulge.
Spinal Decompression is a safe, non-surgical treatment option that will relieve pain and pressure associated with disc bulges. At our clinic, we integrate Spinal Decompression into a structured treatment plan. Our protocols work to rehydrate and restore the disc, retrain the surrounding muscles and nervous system to support proper spinal alignment and healthy movement patterns. This comprehensive approach is designed to provide lasting relief and the risk of recurrence.
Disc bulges are a condition we treat successfully on a regular basis. In addition to providing treatment, we guide patients on posture, movement and activity modifications to help prevent re-injury.
We are proud to be recognized as the highest-rated spinal decompression clinic serving Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Hamilton, with a commitment to evidence-based care and patient education.
Disc Extrusion
A ‘Disc Extrusion’ is another term for ‘Disc Herniation’. It occurs when the inner material of the disc pushes out through the weakened outer fibres, compressing the spinal cord or an adjacent spinal nerve and causing significant pain. This pain can be felt at the site due to the many nerve endings in the outer disc, and may also radiate into the arms, legs, hands or feet.
Disc Extrusions develop over time as incorrect vertebral movement causes mechanical stress and structural breakdown of the disc. Eventually, an event such as bending, lifting, a fall or holding an abnormal position for too long can cause the inner material to burst through the outer layer. The displaced material compresses nerves, leading to pain, numbness, tingling or weakness in the limbs.
Our clinic has developed a highly effective care protocol over the past 20 + years for correcting Disc Extrusions. Spinal Decompression relieves nerve pressure, promotes disc healing and restores normal spinal function, making it possible to resolve this condition without surgery.
At Burlington Spinal Decompression, using non-invasive, non-surgical Spinal Decompression we have been able to achieve recovery results like no other medical professional. We know this because our patients tell us, they tell us they have been told there is nothing that can be done for them…but we can help.
Disc Herniation
A Disc Herniation occurs when abnormal vertebral movement places mechanical stress on the intervertebral disc over time, causing degeneration of the outer fibres. As these fibres rupture, the soft inner material pushes through, often pressing on an adjacent spinal nerve.
The pain from a Disc Herniation is often caused by the rupture of the outer (annular) fibres and nerve compression. The most common form of this is a ‘Posterior-lateral Disc Herniation’, which places pressure on the nerve, through the side or back of the spinal joint. This causes intense radiating pain into the arms if the source point is in the neck, or into the legs if it is lower back.
Types of Disc Herniation include:
- Disc Protrusion:When the inner material pushes beyond the outer fibres without fully breaking away.
- Disc Sequestration: When fragments of the inner material break off and move into the spinal canal.
At Burlington Spinal Decompression, we use advanced Spinal Decompression technology, which allows precise targeting of Herniated Discs. Our equipment can apply decompression in lateral flexion, trunk or neck flexion and extension, and rotation, which is key for long-term recovery.
We are widely recognized as the best Spinal Decompression clinic in Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton, Mississauga and Milton, this is because of our clinical expertise, industry leading technology and proven results. Many of our Patients travel from all over Ontario because of our reputation and results.
Disc Prolapse
A ‘Disc Prolapse’, also known as a ‘Ruptured Disc’ or ‘Herniated Disc, occurs when the outer fibres of the disc weaken and rupture. This rupture creates a cavity for the inner gel-like nucleus to escape, often compressing spinal nerves or the spinal cord.
The nerve compression causes pain and disrupts the crucial nerve signals that control your organs, cells, tissues and glands. If left untreated, this will lead to more serious long-term nerve damage. So if you are suffering from any of these symptoms don’t delay getting treatment.
Burlington Spinal Decompression has over 21+ years of experience specifically correcting Disc Prolapse and other related spinal conditions. Our advanced Spinal Decompression technology will relieve pressure on the nerves, restore disc health and prevent further degeneration.
Radiating Pain
‘Radiating Pain’ is caused by nerve compression. While the pain can be unbearably uncomfortable, what is even more of a serious concern is the altered nerve signal, this affects the function of the organs, tissues and glands that are controlled by that nerve.
Symptoms include numbness, tingling or pain in the arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet or toes. These symptoms are often misdiagnosed as carpal tunnel or tarsal tunnel syndrome, but frequently do actually originate from spinal issues caused by past injuries, arthritis or disc degeneration.
At Burlington Spinal Decompression we use a Patient-oriented care plan, combining Spinal Decompression with targeted rehabilitation to relieve nerve compression and restore normal function. This approach eliminates pain and prevents symptoms from returning.
Ruptured Disc
A ‘Ruptured Disc’ occurs when the outer fibres on the disc tear, creating a cavity for the inner material to escape into the spinal canal or add pressure on nearby nerves. This is often extremely painful and leads to Spinal Canal stenosis.
Burlington Spinal Decompression has extensive experience treating ruptured discs using proprietary methods developed over 20 + years. Our approach focuses on relieving pressure, promoting healing and restoring proper spinal mechanics without the need for muscles relaxors, pain killers or spinal surgery.
Sciatica
‘Sciatica’ occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes compressed. This nerve is formed from four spinal nerves originating in the lower back and sacrum, running through the buttocks and down the back of the leg to the foot.
Sciatica causes severe, unpredictable pain that most often doesn’t respond to medication. At Burlington Spinal Decompression we develop a patient-oriented care plan combining the most advanced Spinal Decompression, joint realignment, improved spinal and pelvic mobility and nerve retraining to provide lasting relief.
We are recognized throughout the orthopaedic and chiropractic profession as the highest-rated Spinal Decompression clinic serving Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton, Milton and Mississauga.
Sequestered Disc
The term “Slipped Disc’ is very outdated and non-specific. It typically refers to a ‘Bulging’ or ‘Herniated Disc’. Getting an accurate diagnosis is essential to ensure proper corrective treatment.
At Burlington Spinal Decompression, using our on-site industry leading technology we are able to determine the exact nature of the disc problem and apply a targeted Spinal Decompression Care Plan’ to relieve pressure, restore disc health and prevent recurrence.
‘Spinal Stenosis’ is known as narrowing of the spinal canal or spinal nerve canal. Which can compress the spinal cord or nerve roots. This condition causes pain, numbness, tingling or weakness in the limbs.
We have developed effective, patient orientated, non-surgical treatment strategies to target ‘Spinal Stenosis’ that focuses on relieving compression, improving mobility and restoring nerve function. At Burlington Spinal Decompression our industry leading technology and proven results are why we are the best Spinal Decompression Clinic throughout Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton and Milton.

Scoliosis and Spinal Curvatures
‘Spinal Curvatures’ occur when the spine develops a sideways curve, often causing abnormal joint motion, uneven disc pressure and nerve compression. This can result from trauma, repetitive strain or prolonged poor posture.
‘Scoliosis’ is a specific type of spinal curvature that also involves vertebral rotation. Both conditions are progressive and should be corrected early, to ensure spinal surgery is truly avoided.
At Burlington Spinal Decompression, we target ‘Scoliosis’ and ‘Spinal Curvatures’ with patient oriented Spinal Decompression care plans and corrective protocols that retrain the nervous system, restore healthy spinal curves and improve alignment — without surgery.
We are not just saying this, we have digital proof from many patients who had tried everything possible and been told surgery was the only option ... .It's not the only option and we prove that myth everyday.
